I am happy to be joining the Talmar crew as Farm Manager. Starting this week, I will be heading up the on-farm production operations including the CSA and flower shares.

I come to Talmar with several years of field experience, organic farming savvy, and a passion for connecting people to their food and the way it is grown. My fiance and I moved to Baltimore after living in Northern California where I worked with several organic farms through the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF). While at CAFF, a large part of my role was to engage people with local farm and farmers in order to foster enthusiasm for sustainably-produced, nutritious food. This ultimately led me to pursue a master's degree in public health to give me the knowledge, skills and tools to encourage health behavior change.

So what brings me back to farming? I think that organic, sustainable agriculture and resilient local food systems are the key to promoting health in America. This growing movement is one that I want to be a part of as a public health professional, an environmental enthusiast and a young farmer.

I'm happy to be here and will be jumping right in to the growing season. Come on by this Saturday for the Festival of Flowers and meet me!

Join our CSA! and support a Veteran!

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is now accepting applications for the 2012 growing season.
