Farm Manager Position

We are looking for an even tempered Farmer for the 2012 growing season at TALMAR Gardens, located on ten acres within a 365 acre park in Baltimore, MD. This position requires a minimum of five years experience in organic farming methods, both in the growing of produce and specialty cut flower production. They must be knowledgeable in plant pathology, IPM measures, and using OMRI certified products. Farmer must also posses organization and management skills and be able to provide hands on knowledge to interns or first year farmers. Preference will be given to a Farmer with experience in CSA’s, farmers markets and medium scale production. Maintenance on equipment and vehicles will be an added plus. A good driving record with a clean criminal record is mandatory. This is a salaried position with housing and benefits negotiable. Christmas Trees Are Here!

Our trees are here and our customers are already picking them out and taking them home.  Don't be left holding the bag, see for yourself!  During the current holiday season Talmar has modiified our hours of operation in order to give you flexibility in purchasing our seasonal greenery.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

Monday through Thursday: 12pm to 5pm
Friday: 12pm to 6pm
Saturday: 10am to 6pm
Sunday: 11am to 6pm

Symphony Christmas At Cromwell Park

Talmar and the Baltimore Symphony Associates are pleased to present a weekend of holiday fun and activities at Eck House on the Talmar Campus from December 9-11.  Hours are 10 am to 4 pm. 

Events include:

Workshops & Demonstrations: Talmar staff will demonstrate how to create wreaths, miniature trees and centerpieces.  Join us each day at 10:30 and 1:30 on the first level of Eck House

Boutique: Vendors represented include Studio C, Chocolate Connection, Silver Bird, Kearney Enterprises and more!  Find the boutique on the lower level of Eck House.

Santa's Secret Shoppe for Kids: Go to the upper level of Eck House where children aged 4-12 can shop for their parents, grandparents, siblings and friends.  Gifts are "kid priced" and fun!

Snack Shop & Cafe: Muffins, cookies and drinks will be available, as well as munchies from various food vendors.  Located on the first level of Eck House.

Parking will be available on the grounds at Talmar!

Volunteers Needed!

TALMAR staff will need extra help throughout the holiday season; selling trees, making wreaths, decorating miniature trees, and overall sales. We are open seven days a week, come join us!
