The overarching goal of TALMAR’s vocational training program is to provide consumers with individualized training utilizing meaningful work experiences. At TALMAR consumers get first-hand opportunities to develop skills and experience the operational management of a horticultural business.
Consumers become involved in the range of work activities carried out by our horticultural staff and get hands-on experience in all aspects of the production of cut flowers. Consumers learn about employment opportunities in agriculture, horticulture and the marketing and sales of a floral business while learning responsible and dependable work patterns. This work provides consumers with valuable learning experiences: work ethics, methods and discipline as well as a range of social skills and personal attributes that will prepare them for whatever jobs they may have later in life.
