  • Brian Lovell (Read about Brian below)
Brian Lovell is a full-time employee at TALMAR. He began working with Cate Murphy before she even thought about creating TALMAR. Brian was a student of Cate's at the St. Elizabeth School in Baltimore County for several years. He began to help Cate with landscape and gardening projects outside of school. Cate then hired Brian when he graduated from St. Elizabeth's in 1996. Brian is currently the 'handy man' around TALMAR. His every day tasks include opening the site for visitors, washing pots, watering plants, transplanting and overseeing day-to-day operations. Brian "loves to work at TALMAR."
  • Dory Albrecht (Read about Dory below)
Dory Albrecht is a part-time employee at TALMAR. She works mainly throughout the summer and takes the winter months off. Dory enjoys making bouquets and bunches of flowers for the farmers markets. After Dory and her husband retired, Dory found that she needed something to do outside of the house; so when she was reffered to TALMAR by her friend and neighbor, Emma Volz, she immediately began working with the flowers. Although this is only Dory's second year at TALMAR, she feels right at home, saying she "really enjoys working here."
  • Emma Volz (Read about Emma below)
Emma Volz, a part-time employee, has been working at TALMAR for about a year and a half now. Emma and her husband George decided to work at TALMAR after hearing about the company from their daughter Karen Volz. Emma decided to give up knitting and get to work in the greenhouse. Emma said that she loves working with the kids. Although she's not a big fan of getting dirty, Emma likes to transplant and enjoys watching the flowers grow. In her spare time, Emma enjoys cooking for her kids and neighbors. Occasionally, she will bring a cake, meatloaf or bread in for the staff to munch on.
  • George Volz (Read about George below)
George Volz, like his wife Emma, came to work at TALMAR as a part-time employee about a year and a half ago. George is considered a handy man around TALMAR. He builds fences, paints, tills the soil and is currently putting an irrigation system in the four acres of flower fields. George is also very handy with electrical problems and water leaks. In the past, he has fixed several potenitally sever problems at TALMAR. George enjoys rising the tractor and working outdoors. He only works at TALMAR one day a week, but Cate Murphy believes he is an asset to the company.
