Mother's Day Plant Sale

TALMAR Gardens and Horticultural Therapy Center and the Cromwell Valley Park CSA will host the second annual Mother's Day Plant Sale at Sherwood Farm in Cromwell Valley Park. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 8 & 9 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. For questions or directions call us at 410-825-2020.


New Therapy Group!

TALMAR is currently accepting applications to participate in a horticulture therapy group facilitated by a horticultural therapist. Groups will meet once a week (at no cost to the participant) and each session will last for one and a half hours. This program will last for 8 weeks and space is limited. Contact us for details!

Governance

CATHERINE T. MURPHY, M.Ed., HTR

Catherine is the Founder, President and Executive Director of TALMAR. She received a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Masters degree in Special Education. Over the past 25 years, Cate has been engaged in multiple facets of the horticultural and floricultural profession having specialized in floral design, interior plantscape and exterior landscape design and installations. She is an associate member and a registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR) through the American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA)

In September 2007 Cate was awarded an Executive Citation from the Baltimore County Executive, Jim Smith, in recognition for her outstanding contributions to the people of Baltimore County.

Cate is the aunt of a young adult with physical and intellectual disabilities.
