Accomplishments

Among the things we are most proud of at Talmar:

  1. Recipient of the Maryland Recreation and Parks Therapeutic Recreation Branch Innovative Program Award for Horticultural Therapy Programming in 2006-2007.
  2. Recipient of the National Achievement Award for Counties (NACo) in 2007 for Horticultural Therapy programming and services.
  3. Received Executive Citation from Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith in 2007 for valuable and dedicated service to individuals with disabilities.
  4. Received Executive Citation from Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith for programs in Horticultural Therapy and Vocational Training in collaboration with the Department of Recreation and Parks Offices of Therapeutic Services.
  5. On September 26, 2007, The Baltimore County Council honored TALMAR GARDENS AND HORTICUULTURAL CENTER with a resolution paying “tribute and thanks to an organization whose diligence and innovation are creating a legacy of excellence in programming for the special residents of Baltimore County."
